Challenge Events

A challenge event can be anything that challenges you – from the 3 Peaks Trek to a Skydive. There are a huge range of sporting, outdoor and overseas challenges that you can get involved with.  We work alongside many companies who organise a fantastic variety of challenges for you to take part in – we’ve listed just a few below, but please do visit their websites to see a whole range of events.

Things to consider

What is the cost of the event? Are you self-funding it or can you guarantee raising enough to cover both the cost of your challenge and make more on top?
Is there anyone else who you could get on board? Fundraising in a team can sometimes give you a greater sense of support and motivation than going it alone

  • Skydive

A skydive is a fantastic challenge and brilliant way to raise funds, thank you! On behalf of everyone here, thank you so much for getting involved and supporting the work we do. Our supporters and fundraisers provide a huge part of our income, which helps us reach more people across the UK, and support more young people at risk of suicide.

We work alongside a company called Skyline who you can book your skydive with.  However, you are welcome to use a different company if you prefer.

If you choose to use Skyline to book your skydive, you can choose a “Jump for Free” option, which comes with a minimum fundraising target that each person must raise.  For a tandem skydive, we would ask that each person raises a minimum of £395 – and you get your skydive for free (£450 in Scotland and Northern Ireland).  For more detail on this, please see Skyline’s website here.

  • Treks

Great Wall of China  |  Various throughout 2020 and 2021

One of the Seven Wonders of the World, The Great Wall of China has to be the ultimate building project the world has ever known; constructed by human hands over 2000 years ago, it stretches across this hilly region with long spurs and watch towers often disappearing into the mists.

This trek is very varied, as you pass through woodland and terraced farmland, and follow the contours of the beautiful hills and mountains in remote areas north of Beijing. You will follow old sections of the Great Wall, as well as restored sections with smooth flagstones and lots of steps!

You can download an information pack here from Discover Adventure.

Minimum sponsorship for this event starts from £3250
